Artist Bio

Louise Stella Lauren (they/she) is a Greek-American queer artist located in Brooklyn, NY. They have focused on analog photography, both 35mm and medium format, for nearly 8 years. Predominantly self-taught, in the last year Louise has sought to broaden their technical skillset with an emphasis in darkroom printing and studio lighting through a series of courses at the International Center of Photography.

Their work has been published by the online magazine Lesbians are Miracles, auctioned and sold for the Thessaloniki Queer Arts Festival in support of the Greek queer activist Zak Kostopoulos in 2020, and was featured at the Professional Women Photographer’s ‘My NYC’ group show in 2022.

Louise’s focus on portraiture and storytelling enables them to explore personal and human psychological themes via the medium of photography. The aim of her artistic practice is to continue to conceptualise and materialize complex human experiences.
